Lenape Middle School

Lenape Middle School Additions and Alterations
The facility consists of an original building built in 1958 with academic and auxiliary gymnasium additions in 1995. The intent of the project was to create a secure entry point for the school, renovate the oldest portions of the building and remove the two existing portable classrooms on the site.
The solution was a two phased project for the Central Bucks School District. The first phase included renovations to one half of the building. This included classrooms, the gymnasium and locker rooms, teacher planning areas and corridors with new finishes, casework, marker boards, VCT in lieu of asbestos tile, ceilings and lighting.
The project also consisted of complete removal of original building elements and replacement with new ones. The oldest portion was outfitted with new windows, mechanical, electrical, technology and communication systems. Toilet rooms were renovated to provide new finishes and fixtures as well as provide for barrier free access. Lastly, the roof was replaced to complete the new efficient envelope.  Renovation and alterations to the rest of the building include the balance of classrooms, new teacher planning areas, nurse's suite, music rooms and small group instruction rooms with new VCT floors in lieu of asbestos tile, marker boards, casework, ceilings and lighting as well as corridors with new finishes, lockers and exhibition boards, Additions to the building include a new administrative wing that provides for a new lobby with secure entry and an art wing that includes a new television studio and photo lab as well as 2D and 3D studios.
